Land Acknowledgement

Rancho Scorpio would like to begin by acknowledging that the land on which our farm operates is the traditional territory of many Native American nations, including the Comanche, Lipan Apache, and Tonkawa nations.

We humbly recognize that this land was their dominion for thousands of years before European settlment. As such, we intend to make a deep commitment to honor their legacy, their cultures, and their contributions to this land.

As we work and live on this land, it is our highest ideal to commit to being respectful stewards of it, learning about its biology, ecology, and history, and honoring the indigenous people who have lived on this land for thousands of years.

We recognize the importance of building relationships with the Native American communities who once lived in this area and the importance of supporting them today.

Therefore, we will be contributing donations in the form of time and money to the tribes who once lived in this area to show our appreciation and commitment to this land.

We acknowledge that words and acknowledgements are not enough, and we are committed to taking action to support the Native American communities and to do our part in protecting and preserving this land for generations to come.
